Peterborough City Council
Wendy Coulter from Coulter Elite Resourcing has recently assisted us by running a workshop for a small number of young people who were not in education, employment or training (NEET). She used her wealth of knowledge of employment requirements and talked about what employers look for on CVs and in interviews, and how young people can sell their personal skills to potential employers.
Feedback from the young people included: “It was really helpful”. “It was good to know the pros and cons of how to do a CV professionally”. “I’m more confident in enhancing my CV”. “It is really useful to know what employers look for in an interview”. “I learnt the pros and cons of interviews”. “It was good when Wendy shared her own experiences with the group”.
This will make a real difference to the young people who attended. They have learnt practical tips they can use on CVs, in job applications and interviews, from someone who knows how employers think. It’s brilliant to get local employers involved in preparing young people for the competitiveness and the demands of the local labour market and it benefits everyone to tap into the potential of these young people.
